Career

Arne Bethmann studied social sciences at the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) from 2000 to 2007 (Dipl.-Sozialwirt / MA) specializing in empirical social research. In 2007 he was awarded the Dissertation Prize of the Social Science Research Centre of the FAU for his master thesis. In 2013 he completed his PhD at the FAU with a thesis on “Aspects of Occupation and Family in Economic Insecurity”.

Since August 2014 Arne Bethmann has been a post doctoral researcher at the Chair of Statistics and Methodology (Prof. Dr. Frauke Kreuter) at the University of Mannheim. In addition he is a senior researcher at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB). In this context he works at the Research Department Panel Study "Labour Market and Social Security" (PASS) since 2008. He also serves as Head of IABs Working Group on Data Quality since 2015.
